We can make great choices with our meals then totally ruin it with our condiments. I'm here to help you make easy switches to some classic condiments that won't get you into trouble and will help high light your meals. Along with some of my favorite condiments I have found! Remember there are 3 things we should be looking for on our labels, how much Added Sugar, Added Sodium and Saturated Fat!
BBQ Sauce
Sweet Baby Ray's is a well known bbq sauce that has been around for years. The first ingredient listed is High fructose corn syrup and includes 16 grams of added sugar for just 2 Tbs! Time to make a switch to Primal Kitchen's unsweetened classic bbq sauce with no added sugars and great flavors. Found at most grocery stores: (Safeway, Fredy's, Walmart, Costco, New Seasons) available to purchase on their website.
Ketchup
The classic Heinz tomato ketchup is made with 4 grams of added sugar per 1 Tbs and is made with High Fructose corn syrup! Time to make the switch to Tessemae's unsweetened Ketchup that you can find at Fredmeyer's. Primal Kitchen also makes a great unsweetened ketchup as well.
Queso
Ditch the Tostio's queso dip and give this vegan version a try. I promise it's delicious and you will be so happy to have queso dip again! Found in the refrigerated vegan section at Fredmeyer's, New Seasons and Natural Grocers.
This "Bitchin" vegan spread goes great in replace of mayo, mixed with bowls, topped on chicken, drizzled on fish tacos, you can't go wrong with this sauce! One of my absolute favorites to use in cooking. When in doubt if a recipe taste bland just add some Bitchin' Sauce.
Ingredients: Water, Grapeseed Oil, Lemon juice, Liquid Aminos, Nutritional Yeast, spices and sea salt.
Find it in the refrigerated section at Chucks, Fredmeyer, Costco, Target, Natural Grocers and Walmart.
Chucks Produce also Carries their Spinach Artichoke dip that you will definitely want to pick up. This heart healthy dip is so good you will want to buy more!
Happy Saucing!
